Like Drowning

Depression is like drowning, but everyone can see you breathing.

I found something very similar to this quote online and that’s how I read it, but when I read it again it said something completely different. It didn’t make sense anymore. I like the way my mind presented it to me. Just like you see above.

Depression is like drowning. It is. It’s consuming, it swallows you up whole and it’s hard to get away from. The sad thing is, everyone else can still see you breathe. They can’t see that you’re drowning, that you can’t pick yourself up, that you can’t save you. They don’t understand.

Don’t get me wrong, you’re not alone. But for those that don’t understand depression, they don’t understand what you’re going through, they can’t relate. They can’t hold you and save you, because they still see you breathing.
